Is summer making you lose your cool? Why not dive into a swimming pool? The best way to beat the heat is apparently to take to swimming, which is not only one of the best forms of exercise, but also a way of relaxation and easy on the joints.

However, the aquatic activity comes with a few unwanted effects, such as skin infections, allergies, and irritations. All one needs to do is follow a few skin and hair care routine to enjoy it.

Before swimming

The foremost thing before starting the activity is to ensure that one is infection-free. “If you are afflicted with any skin/ eyes/ ears/ urine/ stomach infection (viral, bacterial, or fungal), get yourself treated from a doctor. In the case of fever, sore throat, cough and cold, avoid the pool for 7-10 days. This is for your own safety and the safety of others,” said Dr Jastinder K Gill, Senior Dermatologist and Cosmetologist, SPS Hospitals.

Swimmers! Hair care tips?

I used to swim hardcore in highschool, and now I'm thinking of taking it back up. I remember that some girls left conditioner in their hair while swimming with a cap, and some girls used special shampoos that helped strip the chlorine out.

Soak your hair before going into the pool. Hair has a maximum absorbancy point and getting it wet with tap water aids in preventing the more chlorinated water from getting to it. Swcond, wear a swim cap. Third, wash your hair with a neutralizing shampoo

i can relate. the best thing is to wet your hair first with tap water.soaking wet... think of it as a towel if it is already wet it will not soak up any water. then the swim cap ..i would not suggest just any conditioner most have alchol and can actually

After swimming i shower and use Herbal Essences shampoo and conditioner, after i use Aussie's 3 Minute A Day Deep Cleanse and Leave In Conditioner, they work great!! I also went to a salon last year and they told me to use Kenra Shampoo, it also works
