(Are you? Here are  10 signs you’re not getting enough magnesium .) Dr. Dean recommends aiming for a 600 mg dosage via a magnesium citrate powder that you can dissolve in drinking water. Your body can easily absorb the mineral in this form—just sip it throughout the day with an extra gulp at nighttime. Best multivitamin for kidney transplant patient?

I had a kidney transplant 3 months ago and I am currently on a prescription multivitamin. The transplant coordinator said I could use an OTC multivitamin to save some money since I have quite a few prescriptions I get filled monthly. I was wondering

When I was on PD, I was taking Walgreen's multivitamin with iron. I 360 count bottle was $10-$15 or so, not bad, and only need one a day.
Since my kidney and pancreas transplant (Mar '07) I haven't needed a vitamin. All my labs are looking great!

will my multivitamin cause kidney stones?

when i pee, my urine is really yellow and warm due to the multivitamin. i am scared that this may cause long term effects on my kidney. any help or suggestions will be appreciated.

It's possible. Multi-vitamins which are not whole food derived have a higher risk of kidney stones than those that are derived from whole food sources. The cheap ones like One-A-Day and Centrum are made up mostly of petro-chemical synthetic vitamins

Yes, it will.

Your urine is yellow from the vitamin B. The multiple vitamins has all kinds of B in it. I've been taking all kinds of vitamins for years and I did have kidney stones but my doctor didn't say it was from the vitamins. He did put me on a low salt diet
