Oklahoma State Picks Up First Offensive Line Commit in Michalski

Oklahoma State picked up their 12th verbal commitment overall in the 2019 football recruiting class and the first on the offensive line in Joe Michalski out of Overland Park (St. Thomas Aquinas), Kansas. Michalski and his mother were in Stillwater on Thursday. They made it into Stillwater on Thursday evening and spent the entire day checking out the football program and the campus. Michalski is 6-4, 270 pounds and listed as an offensive tackle prospect. He looked every bit that size on Thursday evening.

"It went great," Michalski said of the visit from his family's hotel room in Stillwater on Friday evening. "I love everything about it and I love Coach Henson and Coach Gundy. I'm really looking forward to playing for them. They are unique. I love the culture of the program. I was able to meet the strength coach, Coach Glass, and I'm excited to work in there (weight room). Everything about it is great. I love the small town feel of Stillwater."

He is rated a three-star prospect by 247Sports. He lists offers from Cornell, Dartmouth, and Yale of the Ivy League. He was also offered by Wyoming, North Dakota, and Texas State with interest but no offer yet from Iowa, Kansas State, and Kansas. It seems obvious that Oklahoma State offered him on site on Thursday as he previously had no offer from the Cowboys and, in fact, they were not even showing up on his 247Sports profile.
